Christmas Letter
King Family News for 2020
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Here are some newsworthy family doings in this eventful year.
January Hannah and Art fly to Colombia and spend a couple weeks with Bethani and Willa helping Venezuelan refugees.
Feb Ian rebuilds BMW’s to sell. We squeal with excitement when Sierra and Tyler share that a new baby is on the way!
March Bethani flies home from Colombia on the last possible day as the pandemic closes everything. Willa decides to stay at the Bolivian orphanage where she can help, instead of coming home to lockdown life.
June Caleb graduates from Walla Walla University with an accounting degree. Sierra graduates from Union College as a Physician’s Assistant. Ceremonies are only virtual.
July Sierra and Tyler move from Lincoln Nebraska to a tiny house next door to us. Willa comes home from Bolivia. To celebrate our graduates, we rent a house on the Oregon coast for a week with most of the children (see photo).
August Bethani completes a 1000-mile bicycle backpacking trip around the Olympic Peninsula and the North Cascades. Art and Ronda fly to Michigan to visit David, Elissa and four, way above average, grandchildren.
August 29 Vienna Robertson is born! Sierra and Tyler’s first child and our fifth grandchild. Our joy overflows.
September Willa starts classes in person and online at Walla Walla University. Rylee starts classes in person at Walla Walla Valley Academy.
October Taylor continues building steel structures and installing gutters. Art and Ronda launch a master bed and bath remodel. Prime contractor for the job is son-in-law Tyler.
November Bethani starts writing a book. Nine of our children are with us for Thanksgiving.
December The handsome Ryan Robinson proposes marriage to Hannah and we celebrate this joyful news with them. Caleb lands an accounting job in Boise, Idaho. Eight children home for Christmas reminds us of how blessed we are.
Wrap-up Children are in Fremont MI (Elissa, David and family), Memphis TN (Brenden and Moeko), traveling (Bethani), Medford OR (Hannah and Ryan). Moving to Boise ID (Caleb), Walla Walla WA (Sierra and Tyler, Ian, Taylor, Willa, Rylee).
We are thankful for each of them, and for all the good times together this year.
